DART & LINE is designed to project digital sewing patterns onto a suitable work surface or fabric to assist with pattern placement, tracing and cutting.
Please read these safety and use instructions carefully before operating the projector.
Eye Safety
Never look directly into the projector lens while the projector is switched on.
Do not intentionally direct the projected light into another person's eyes.
Position the projector so that users are not required to look directly into the lens during normal operation.
Children should not operate or play with the projector without appropriate adult supervision.
Electrical Safety
Use the projector only with suitable power equipment and accessories intended for the device.
Do not use the projector if the power cable, plug, adapter or device appears damaged.
Never handle electrical connections with wet hands.
Keep the projector away from water, drinks, excessive moisture and other liquids.
Unplug the projector before cleaning, moving or inspecting it where appropriate.
Ventilation & Heat
Electronic projectors may generate heat during operation.
Keep all ventilation openings clear.
Do not cover the projector with fabric, paper, clothing or other materials while it is operating.
Do not place the projector near heat sources or in poorly ventilated enclosed spaces.
Allow the projector to cool before storing it after extended use.
Stop using the device immediately if you notice unusual overheating, smoke, burning smells or abnormal sounds.
Stable Installation
The projector should be installed or positioned on a stable and suitable surface or mounting system.
Before use, make sure the projector and any mounting equipment are secure.
Do not position the device where it may easily fall onto a person, child, pet or work surface.
DART & LINE is not responsible for damage caused by unsuitable, unstable or incorrectly installed mounting equipment.
Calibration Before Cutting
Correct calibration is essential when projecting sewing patterns.
Always verify the projected measurements against a known reference measurement before cutting fabric.
Do not assume that a projected pattern is automatically displayed at the correct scale.
Accuracy can be affected by projector position, distance, angle, pattern file settings, software settings, work-surface alignment and calibration.
Cutting Tools
DART & LINE assists with pattern projection only.
It does not cut fabric.
Scissors, rotary cutters, blades and other cutting tools used alongside the projector are separate tools and must be handled according to their own safety instructions.
Always keep sharp tools away from children and use an appropriate cutting surface.
Fabric & Material Responsibility
Before cutting expensive, limited or irreplaceable material, verify the pattern dimensions and scale carefully.
We recommend performing a measurement or calibration test before beginning each new setup.
DART & LINE cannot be responsible for fabric or other materials cut incorrectly because of user error, incorrect calibration, incorrect pattern scaling or incorrect software settings.
Indoor Use
Unless specifically stated otherwise in the product specifications, use the projector indoors in a clean, dry and appropriately ventilated environment.
Avoid prolonged exposure to excessive humidity, direct water, extreme temperatures or heavy dust.
Cleaning
Switch off and unplug the projector before cleaning where appropriate.
Use only a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth on external surfaces.
Do not spray cleaning products or liquids directly onto the projector or lens.
Do not insert objects into ventilation openings.
Do Not Disassemble
Do not attempt to open, modify or repair internal projector components unless instructed by an authorised service provider.
Unauthorised modifications may damage the projector and create an electrical or fire hazard.
Children & Pets
DART & LINE is not a toy.
Keep cables, mounting equipment and the projector itself out of reach of young children and pets where appropriate.
Children should use the product only under responsible adult supervision.
Third-Party Devices, Patterns & Software
DART & LINE may be used with compatible third-party devices, software or sewing pattern files.
We cannot guarantee compatibility with every computer, smartphone, tablet, application, operating system or pattern format unless specifically stated on our product page.
Third-party software and pattern files are governed by their respective providers.
Intended Use
DART & LINE is designed as a visual aid for sewing, dressmaking, pattern work and similar craft applications.
It is not intended for medical, industrial safety, surveying, measurement certification or other applications requiring professionally certified projection or measurement equipment.
Stop Use if Damaged
Stop using the projector if it:
- Has been dropped or seriously damaged
- Has a damaged cable or power connection
- Has been exposed to significant liquid
- Produces smoke or a burning smell
- Overheats abnormally
- Makes unusual electrical noises
- Shows any condition that may make continued operation unsafe
User Responsibility
The user is responsible for ensuring that:
- The projector is installed securely
- The device is operated safely
- Calibration is checked before cutting
- The projected pattern is the correct size
- Suitable cutting and sewing practices are followed
- Children and pets are appropriately supervised
- The product is used according to the instructions provided
